Salena has recently created a new best practices document that we can all use. It's based on a real donation request that she made to support the UCP Texas Access Housing project. YOUR ORGANIZATION program is working to develop an online searchable housing resource for people with disabilities. We are currently in the process of recruiting eight VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) team members to spend eight weeks this summer conducting surveys of local apartment communities for their accessibility features for people with disabilities. EDIT TO SPECIFIC DONATION REQUEST Team members will be using public transportation to travel to each different apartment community to orient them to the usefulness of public transportation in Austin – often the only mode of transportation available for people with disabilities.

Please accept this letter as our request to DONOR to provide EDIT TO SPECIFIC REQUEST the Capitol Metro passes that will enable these eight new team members to travel around Austin for the weeks of June 23rd to August 15th. Your generous contribution of $160.00 in bus passes and will go a long way in our continued development of the Access Housing program.

We plan to have our housing resource online sometime this fall and a contribution from DONOR will directly affect our ability to provide this resource for low income people with disabilities looking for housing in the Austin area.
