I (salena) am facilitating the team meeting this week and we are going to use blog posts/comments as our discussion points.
Because I would like to get other people posting on this blog I am randomly selecting 3 people from our state team to each post a discussion item.
Everyone must post comments to 2 out of the 3 in order for us to have a meaningful discussion.

I have crumpled tiny pieces of paper with everyones initials (except spencers, he will be in training next week) and the winners are.....

This is just to get you guys posting...you dont have to do anything special, just add a post with the title "Team meeting discussion item (your name)" and the question in the box. This was an interesting experiment. It pretty much involved us just talking about what we were doing and our experiences working as VISTA's. Susan suggested we all read a book called
The Milagro Beanfield War
there is also a movie, if you aren't in the mood for reading. Info on the book and movie are on Amazon and Wikipedia
We had a rocky start with some technology issues and a few people were missing, but overall I think it was a good conversation, and while everyone didn't post comments, there was still a lot shared.
Overall, I really enjoyed the conversation and I hope we can have another one again and have a better turnout so that we can have more discussion.
